AfterSchool 2012-13

We feel confident saying our AfterSchool program is the best in Utah. Now, it's getting even better.

For the upcoming school year we have added a computer lab filled with new iMacs, iPads, digital cameras and HD video recorders. We now offer more flexible options like our new A La Carte service and Drop-In Care.

The JCC's AfterSchool program isn't simply a place for children to fill time. We emphasize learning, friendships, active recreation and fun. Afternoons are filled with rock climbing, swimming, art projects, sports, field trips, homework and now multi-media projects in the computer lab.

AfterSchool at the JCC is an inclusive, safe place for children of all faiths and backgrounds. As always, we will continue our extensive bus pickup service from a number of area schools. The program runs throughout the 9-month school year with options for full-day and half-day camps during most school breaks. We also cater to students from schools with half days every Friday by offering field trips.

APPLE COMPUTER LAB

This is an exciting addition to the JCC AfterSchool. We now have a state-of-the-art computer lab loaded with new iMacs, iPads, digital cameras and digital video recorders. All AfterSchool students will use the computer lab.

Students will use the lab for homework, but we will also guide students through various multi-media projects including web design, video and claymation production.

Another emphais of the program is educating students on internet safety.

A LA CARTE SERVICE

We realize that a full AfterSchool schedule doesn't work, or isn't needed, for every family. This year we will offer additional a la carte options in shorter blocks with different activities.

Option 1: 3 - 4:15 p.m. Includes transportation from school to the JCC and a snack.
Option 2: 4:15 - 5:15 p.m. Includes an AfterSchool activity, computer lab (Tue & Thu only) and a Swim, Dance and Sports class. Note: No transportation provided to the JCC.
Option 3: 5:15 - 6 p.m. Includes homework lab. Note: No transportation provided to the JCC.

DROP-IN CARE

Last-minute meeting? In a bind and need some help for an afternoon? We can accommodate when life interupts. Just call ahead — before noon on Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. on Fridays — and your child can attend AfterSchool that afternoon.

Keep in mind, if you haven't used AfterSchool this school year or if it's your first time using Drop-In Care, you must complete all required forms and pay the one-time $25 registration fee.
