Summer Camp Teachers

Camp K’Ton Ton at the I.J. and Jeanné Wagner Jewish Community Center (an early childhood summer camp) is searching for fun and energetic summer camp teachers to work with children ages two to five years of age. Ideal candidates will demonstrate an understanding of developmentally appropriate practice in a quality early childhood setting. Experience planning and implementing a variety of learning experiences with young children ages 2 through kindergarten is preferred. Full and part time positions are available. Reading Camp Coordinator

Camp K’Ton Ton at the I.J. and Jeanné Wagner Jewish Community Center (an early childhood summer camp) is searching for an experienced “Reading Camp Coordinator” to work with children ages 5 and 6. Ideal candidates will hold a current teaching license and demonstrate knowledge of NAEYC accreditation standards. Experience implementing developmentally appropriate reading and literacy strategies in conjunction with common core standards for kindergarten and/or first grade in the state of Utah are preferred. Reading endorsement is required; must be willing to work May 31st-August 12th. Hours are Tue/Wed/Thu from 8-9 am, plus two hours of planning time each week. Pay DOE. Center Specialist

Applications are now being accepted for "Center Specialist" positions at the Front and Fitness Desk. Qualified candidates must be friendly, outgoing and energetic individuals who can provide the highest level of service to our members and guests. If you are a "people-person" and would enjoy working with the public on a day-to-day basis, we would like to meet you.

As a Customer Service Representative of the Jewish Community Center you have the opportunity to make a great first impression on first-time visitors and potential members. Simultaneously you will expand our relationship with current JCC members.

Hours & Compensation:
This is a part-time position, we are looking to hire for summer staffing with the possibility of continuing on through fall. Starting wage: $9.00/Hr.
Hours available May 1st, training to begin in the next few weeks.
Available Shifts: To be offered together or as applicable.
4:45AM-10:00AM, Tuesday and Thursday
10:00AM-4:00PM Monday
10:00AM-2:00PM Friday
2:00PM-6:00PM Friday
1:00PM-6:00PM Saturday

Some evening and weekend work is required. In addition, this position receives an individual membership to the JCC and discounts on many programs and events.
The ideal candidate for this position has:
• A background in customer service
• Cash-handling experience
• Hospitality experience
• Basic computer skills
• Basic understanding of Jewish culture (preferred)

Duties include:
• Greeting and assisting JCC members and guests
• Collecting admission fees and providing security
• Answering phones
• Selling products and services the JCC offers
• Maintaining cleanliness of the facilities

Early Childhood Center Available Positions

Aquatics Available Positions

Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
Provide instructional swimming lessons to children and adults in group and private settings. Assist in day/week camps in coordination with other youth programs at the center.
Minimum Qualifications:  Current American Red Cross WSI certification is preferred, but other certifications will be considered.

Lifeguard
Job Description:
Provide a safe and clean environment for all patrons in the pool area. Perform all necessary functions as related to the aquatics department.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be 16 years of age or older at the time of hire.
• Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certifications.
Essential Functions:
• Perform all essential lifeguard duties.
• Respond quickly and efficiently to all emergency situations.
• Assist in cleaning pool, pool deck and other assigned areas.
• Fill out appropriate accident/incident reports.
• Attend all regularly scheduled in-service trainings and staff meetings.

Afterschool Counselors

The Youth & Teen Department is looking for experienced college students and beyond to work as counselors in our Afterschool program. Candidates must be available to work from Monday to Thursday from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Friday from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Must be able to pass a background check. Due to the necessity of driving for our program you must also be 21 years old and have a clean driving record. You will receive an individual JCC membership to our beautiful center and fitness facility and work in a fun and friendly environment.
