Early Childhood Center PM Administrative Assistant

The I.J. and Jeanné Wagner Jewish Community Center Early Childhood Center is searching for a qualified Administrative Assistant to work Monday through Friday from 1:15 pm – 6:15 pm.  The PM Administrative Assistant is responsible for many tasks throughout the day including, but not limited to providing information, assistance, and clarification to ECC families; assisting with financial accounts and supporting ECC program administration needs.  Ideal candidates will show mastery level skills in Microsoft Office, exemplary computer and typing skills, customer service/phone etiquette, and previous experience in an early childhood center. Pay will begin at $10/hour, may be negotiable depending on experience/education.

Early Childhood Center Assistant Teachers – PM Extended

The I. J. and Jeanné Wagner Jewish Community Center Early Childhood Center is searching for qualified Assistant Teachers for the 2017-2018 school year.  We are a state licensed and NAEYC accredited program looking for assistant teachers who are knowledgeable about developmentally appropriate practice and passionate about working with young children. Available positions are for part time, 15 hours a week, Monday- Friday, 3:15 pm – 6:15 pm.  Experience working with children ages 2-6 is preferred.

Hourly Child Care - Part Time Caregiver

In this position, a caregiver is expected to spend time caring for children and interacting while they play with friends, sleep, eat snacks, and learn positive and appropriate interactions in a group of friends. It is a drop in facility where parents are required to stay onsite and children are allowed to stay for a two hour time frame. Children range in age from 6 weeks to 6 years of age. This position requires someone who has had experience working with young children and is loving, nurturing and a good communicator. All caregivers must have a current CPR and First Aid certification as well as a Food Handler’s permit. This position requires 10 hours of training yearly and attendance at a monthly staff meeting.

Hours and Shifts available:

  • Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM
  • or Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
  • or Monday - Friday, 1:00-4:00pm
  • or Monday and Wednesday evenings 4:00-7:00pm

Early Childhood Center - Inclusion Specialist

JOB CLASSIFICATION: Part-time, 12-15 hours per week

SALARY: D.O.E.

SUPERVISED BY: Early Childhood Center Director

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for integrating students with special needs into as full participation as possible in an inclusive preschool/childcare classroom setting.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Ed., or related field preferred. Experience with early childhood development preferable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NECESSARY:
Knowledge of categories of exceptionalities for special education and appropriate educational practice. Coaching and mentoring Early Childhood Center staff.

INTERPERSONAL, CUSTOMER SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS UTILIZED:
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and their families, and education professionals. Interact in a positive manner with other staff members. Must relate well to children. Ability to implement IEP’s, IESP’s, and preschool services plans, and work in a team with families and staff. Must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the Center’s philosophy and goals.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT UTILIZED:
Computer, Copiers, digital cameras, printers, video cameras.

SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift preschool age children up to 50 lbs.

Aquatics Available Positions

Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
Provide instructional swimming lessons to children and adults in group and private settings. Assist in day/week camps in coordination with other youth programs at the center.
Minimum Qualifications:  Current American Red Cross WSI certification is preferred, but other certifications will be considered.

Lifeguard
Job Description:
Provide a safe and clean environment for all patrons in the pool area. Perform all necessary functions as related to the aquatics department.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be 16 years of age or older at the time of hire.
• Must have current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certifications.
Essential Functions:
• Perform all essential lifeguard duties.
• Respond quickly and efficiently to all emergency situations.
• Assist in cleaning pool, pool deck and other assigned areas.
• Fill out appropriate accident/incident reports.
• Attend all regularly scheduled in-service trainings and staff meetings.
