Swim Instructor Job Description:
Certifications/Qualifications
Valid Water Safety Instructor certification preferred, but not required
Valid Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification preferred, but not required
Duties & Responsibilities
Instruct swimming and aquatic safety in a private, semi-private, or group setting.
Regularly check the “Lesson Requests” Google document and pick up available lessons.
Communicate clearly with parents about our pool rules, pricing, scheduling, and progress of participants.
Enforce rules and regulations of the facility, programs, and events.
Clearly log all completed lessons in the swim instructor binder (located in the guard room).
Work closely with the entire aquatics team to ensure the safety of all participants.
Submit time off requests to the Aquatics Manager.
Expectations
Arrive on time and prepared to teach lessons.
Provide a safe and organized teaching environment.
Provide participants with timely, positive, and corrective feedback.
Understand pricing and the payment process.
Maintain the highest level of personal conduct, and representation of the Wagner JCC.
COVID-19 Duties and responsibilities
Understand the changes made in emergency response protocols in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Wear a face shield if getting in with a lesson.
Wear a mask at all times, as well as, keeping a 6-foot distance from everyone while in the building, guarding, and on the pool deck.
Proper sanitization and storage of all equipment and toys.

Children's Programming
After School Driver & Counselor (late August through the end of May)
Club J is an after school program for elementary-aged children. Each day children are picked up at their school by JCC vehicles and driven back to the Jewish Community Center. Children are given snack and guided through activities such as art projects, science experiments, games and cooking.
Minimum Qualifications
• Must be reliable, report to work on time, and meet established deadlines
• Loves working with children and responding to their emergent needs
• Must be flexible: able to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
• 18 years of age or older
• Must be able to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with youth, ages 5-12
• Experienced driver

Club J Driver
Join our Afterschool team! We are a fun, friendly, and professional team.
Club J Drivers will drive our JCC vehicles to pick up children from area schools and bring them to the JCC, maintain vehicle fuel levels, and sweep out the vehicles as needed. Club J Drivers work as part of a team to support JCC children and families and report to the Youth & Teen Director.
We create schedules around staff obligations and we can accommodate classes and other responsibilities. Each Club J Driver can report to work on all school calendar days from 2:00pm-5:00pm Monday through Thursday and 1:00pm-4:00pm Friday, for a total of 15 hrs/week.
This is a seasonal position through the end of the school year, with the option of extending into summer camp to drive for our field trips.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be reliable, report to work on time, and meet established deadlines
- Likes working with children
- Able to work in a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Must be able to pass a background check
- 21 years of age or older
- Current driver’s license with a clean record

GENERAL DUTIES
1. Answer service requests and emergency maintenance requests as directed by the Facilities Director.
2. Be aware of safety and appearance concerns throughout the building and grounds at all times.
3. Correct and report issues as they develop.
4. Understand emergency codes and the responsibilities of staff to respond to building emergencies.
ASSIGNMENTS

Completion of an accredited national personal training certification (Certification must be current).

Completion of an undergraduate degree with a specialization in the human performance sciences, preferred but not required
Completion of accredited national nutrition certification preferred but not required
Completion of nationally accredited certifications in other modalities, areas of specialty; preferred but not required
Completion of nationally accredited certifications in group fitness; preferred but not required
General professional and personal liability insurance from a nationally accredited agency must be active
Two years of similar experience as a personal trainer preferred.
