Care is available for children 6 weeks through 7 years of age. Generally, care is available on a drop-in basis. Parents are required to be onsite at the JCC. Periodically, during peak demand, we require reservations. Sign-up sheets will be posted outside the door at least two weeks in advance. You MUST leave a phone number where you can be reached. You must remain on-site while your child is in Hourly Child Care. We require up-to-date information on your child. Please ask the Manager for an admission agreement for current phone numbers and names of those allowed to pick up your child. Sick children (fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other flu-like symptoms) are not permitted in Hourly Child Care and will be sent home. We will call you immediately if your child gets sick while in Hourly Child Care. Label all your child’s belongings with first and last name. Leave diapers, wipes, change of clothes in child’s backpack. Children are NOT permitted to bring toys from home due to the risk of loss or damage. Sharing personal toys can be difficult for children. Bring in a snack for your child each time you visit. We cannot allow peanuts or items with peanuts in them. Many children are allergic to nuts and our center is “nut free”. If your child is staying during lunchtime, please send a lunch and drink with them. We ask that you send a “Kosher Style” lunch (no meat and cheese together, no shellfish, and pork products). If you have questions about “Kosher Style” lunches, please ask us for lunch suggestions.

BEHAVIORAL ISSUES: We use positive reinforcement to help manage and guide the children in our care. We give lots of choices and identify consequences. However, the parent/guardian will be called if the staff is unable to comfort a crying child or control a behavioral problem. The parent/guardian will be asked to remove any child who bites, hits, or cannot be controlled.

LATE POLICY: Prompt pick-up is important. Late fees will be assessed when children are picked up after Hourly Child Care has closed. Late fees are $10 for every 5 minutes after scheduled pick-up per child.
