Parenting Class: Reading Strategies

Reading Strategies to help your child to succeed in the K-2 grade classroom

Join us March 26 from 7-8:30 PM for this Free workshop!

Anna Martin, M.Ed., (one of our current parents) was a classroom teacher for 20 years. Most recently she taught 1st grade in Natick, Massachusetts for 13 years before moving to Salt Lake City in 2014. As a mom of a Kindergartener she has been thinking a lot about how to foster a love or reading in her own child, and would like to share some strategies for fostering a love of reading with other families.

In this workshop:
• Anna will discuss how to help your child to learn decoding and comprehension strategies; to reinforce and strengthen what they are learning in school.
• Anna will share some of her favorite authors for younger children, and share some tips about setting up a reading time at home, and review the importance of reading to your child.
• Anna will explain how to help your child find a just-right or good-fit book so that they can begin reading independently with success.
